Viola Davis Talks Troubled Childhood with Glamour: ?We Had No Food?

She?s a two-time Oscar nominee with plenty of promise for a long and illustrious career, but things haven?t always been so positive for Viola Davis.

In her new interview with Glamour magazine, the ?Help? actress explained that she often went without proper nutrition as a child. ?We had no food. It was like, If you don't eat it now, it'll be gone, and you're going to be hungry for the next?Lord, who knows how long.?

Viola continued, "I was always so hungry and ashamed, I couldn't tap into my potential. I couldn't get at the business of being me,? so she helped to found a new charity called Hunger Is and has already raised $4.5 million. "This is the richest country in the world. There's no reason kids should be going to school hungry. Food is something that everyone should have. It just is."
