Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover 'An Emotional Purging'

Pop singer sings 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' for Amnesty International anniversary album.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>It's hard to associate <a href="/music/artist/_kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> with songs about anything other than hot guys, body glitter and partying. But she's defying her usual topics of interest for human rights organization Amnesty International. The singer is one of the many musicians on the org's <i>Chimes of Freedom</i> compilation of Bob Dylan's music, out January 24. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover Choice 'An Accident'" id="vid:720838" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>When MTV News spoke with K-Dollar Sign last week about her <a href="/news/articles/1676172/kesha-sleazy-remix.jhtml">all-star remix of "Sleazy,"</a> she also opened up about switching gears vocally and emotionally for her version of Dylan's classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right." </P><P> </P><P>"I mean, I think it's pretty well known that he's one of, if not my most, favorite artists of all time and ... one of the most amazing lyricists as well &#8212; the original storyteller," she explained. "So I love Bob Dylan and this was just, like, a dream. When they asked me to do a cover, I was just, like, salivating and going through all my records. It was so fun. It was the best homework assignment you could possibly have." </P><P> </P><P>K's version of Dylan's song is a slow-burning, heartbreaking ode to the already heartbreaking classic, where she channels Dylan through lyrics like "Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say/ To try and make me change my mind and stay/ We never did too much talkin' anyway/ So don't think twice, it's all right." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="What Is The Biggest Perk Of Being A Headliner?" id="vid:642810" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Ke$ha had originally intended to record another Dylan track, but when she heard that someone else had their sights set on it, she settled on "Don't Think Twice," prompting a catharsis she could never have imagined. </P><P> </P><P>"This song was kind of an accident. I sat down and this is the first take that I ever sang," she recalled. "I just sat down on my bed for the first time after months of being on tour and I just started crying, and it was kind of like an emotional purging, and you can hear it on the record." </P><P> </P><P>In addition to Ke$ha and her contribution, the album will feature 75 other Dylan classics recorded by nearly 80 artists including Adele, Miley Cyrus, "Glee" star Darren Criss, My Chemical Romance, Evan Rachel Wood and Sugarland. The album pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International.</p>

How To Survive A Real 'Walking Dead' Zombie Apocalypse

"It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when."

The zombie apocalypse in "The Walking Dead" makes it one of the most intense and gripping shows on television, but it might surprise you to learn a real zombie plague could be closer than you think.

Image: Giphy

HuffPost Entertainment interviewed renowned Zombie Expert Matt Mogk who believes a zombie takeover can "absolutely happen." It's just a matter of time.

"I mean I don?t know if it?s going to happen in our lifetime, but it could happen tomorrow or it could happen in 100 years. I kind of see it in the same way you would look at an earthquake in Los Angeles. You never know when it?s going to happen, but any expert will tell you that we?re overdue for it. It could happen at any moment. So that?s kind of the way I see the zombie plague," said Mogk.

Mogk is an author, college lecturer, "Talking Dead" cast member and founder of Zombie Research Society, a club comprised of more than 350,000 zombie experts and enthusiasts across 6 continents. The ZRS board includes a variety of leading scholars in different fields, including a Harvard professor, an active member of the U.S. Navy and even "Night of the Living Dead" creator George A. Romero.

"What we do is we ask the question from a scientific side," Mogk explained, "If a zombie actually showed up at your front door, what would it look like? What would it smell like? How would it hunt you? How would its brain work? And then we extrapolate from that what diseases out there are mutating in strange ways that we don?t understand, or, now that we sort of have a working theory of what a real life zombie outbreak might be like, we look at what are real world survival strategies."

Without further ado, here's your five-step guide to surviving a zombie apocalypse:

Step 1: Watch "Zombieland"

Image: Giphy

Some zombie movies may give clues as to what a real zombie apocalypse would be like. Mogk explains that while popular zombie stories like "Walking Dead" have corpses reanimating, it's much more likely that a real world scenario would deal with what he calls a living zombie. This is a relentlessly aggressive human driven by a biological infection. (Zombie purists may disagree.)

Mogk said, "If you look at like '28 Days Later' from 2002, these creatures are technically still human. They don?t die and come back to life. 'Zombieland' incidentally was a living zombie movie, which a lot of people don?t even bring up. I would say from a practical point of view, if a raving maniac is trying to claw down my front door to get inside to attack me or eat me or turn me into one of them, I?m not really interested in having a philosophical conversation about: 'Is that really a zombie?'"

28 days
Image: "28 Days Later"

While researching his book, "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Zombies," Mogk learned that, theoretically, scientists could make a disease to create living zombies in a lab today. In addition, though he says there are clear obstacles before this comes to fruition, Mogk points to rabies and vCJD, sometimes called Human Mad Cow Disease, as potential candidates for bringing on a zombie plague.

In the case of Human Mad Cow, he says this disease is 100 percent fatal and a variant can potentially cause a person to go violently insane and spread to others through blood, which, as it turns out, is basically the premise for "Zombieland."

Step 2: Check Facebook

Image: Giphy

Even if there were a disease creating living zombies today, the ZRS president says that a zombie outbreak isn't going to happen over night.

"You see this in every zombie movie pretty much the notion that one person gets bitten and then you cut to the end of the world. And that just really doesn?t hold true. It would be so many months of gray area and questions of what do we do," said Mogk.

Mogk says the disease would be on the news and in social media. Also, our cultural awareness to infectious disease, and even zombies in general, is a big advantage.

Mogk continued, "You ever notice people in zombie movies don?t watch zombie movies? They have no idea what a zombie is. They?re like, 'Oh, a homeless guy tried to bite me. Oh, that?s weird ? let?s all go to sleep.' They have no idea. Meanwhile, when I see a drunk guy like stumbling out of a bar at 1:00 a.m., I?m like, 'That?s a fucking zombie. I?m going a different way home,' [Laughs] you know, for sure."

Step 3: Make Supplies Your First Priority

zombies

The Rule of Threes for survival says you?re dead in three minutes without air, three hours without shelter (Mogk includes anything that protects your body from the outside world the elements threats that sort of thing), three days without water and three weeks without food.

"I would start right there," said Mogk, "and I really think a lot about water because Los Angeles has very little. Human beings need a ton of water on a constant basis to keep from dying of dehydration. Access to clean drinking water would be a really high priority for me."

The ZRS presidents says the 2010 Haiti earthquake serves as an example of the importance of the Rule of Threes. Four years later, and the country is still dealing with a serious cholera problem from tainted water.

Image: wheresupernaturalgifsgo

"Finding water can be difficult, but drinking tainted water is even worse. You die of dehydration from crapping yourself and throwing up until you're so dehydrated you drop dead," said Mogk.

Step 4: Stay Close To Home

Image: Giphy

The ZRS president explained, "Your survival plan in any disaster should be centered around surviving where you are. The grass is not greener on the other side in a zombie plague. If you think it?s really bad where you are, it?s worse somewhere else. Because you don?t even know that place so you have a whole another survival disadvantage."

Though Mogk says he's a huge fan of "The Walking Dead," and shies away from criticizing the show over minor details, one thing he points out that would definitely be different in a real zombie apocalypse is that cars would be ancient history. He points to examples of trucker strikes in Italy and Argentina that left some cities running out of fuel and food in days.

bike

Mogk emphasized, "In like the first two weeks of any society imploding event, cars will be a legend you tell your kids about, and they won't believe you."

Step 5: Whatever You Do, Don't Go To Walmart

165275810

Mogk said, "One thing we can all agree on is that people make zombies. People need water, food and supplies, and if they don?t have that they may be forced to take yours. It?s not necessarily gonna be an '80s apocalyptic action movie where you?re gonna have gangs of dudes with pink mohawks and futuristic motorcycles riding around saying, 'Yay! We're breaking the law,' as soon as the zombies come, but there could be a lot of bad choices."

The ZRS founder recommends staying away from Walmart, other big box stores, gun stores and all the other places people are likely to go.

He continued, "When you're building your zombie plan, and you love it ... you think it?s great ... you're all good. First you have to ask yourself, 'Will other people be doing the same thing? Will other people be going to the same place?' And if the answer is yes, do not do that thing. That?s it."

There you have it! Stick to these rules and you just might make it after all.

Lady Gaga Surpasses 20 Million Followers On Twitter

Pop star extends her record-breaking Twitter dominance over second-place holder Justin Bieber.
By John Mitchell

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> is known for her prolific Internet presence, and now she can lay claim to another achievement: She's the first person to pass 20 million followers on <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga" target="_blank">Twitter</a>. </P><P> </P><P>Mother Monster has yet to acknowledge the feat on her social network of choice, but, on February 9, when she noticed her number of followers eclipsed 19 million, she good-naturedly <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/167686723906703360" target="_blank">tweeted</a>, "19 Million Followers!!! HOLY HOOKER!!! *goes back to work*" </P><P> </P><P>Like many celebrities, Gaga has used Twitter to forge a closer relationship with her fans as well as make announcements about her career and respond to criticism, as she recently did when British music magazine <i>NME</i> named her hit album <i>Born This Way</i> the <a href="/news/articles/1679839/lady-gaga-most-pretentious-albums-born-this-way.jhtml">Most Pretentious Album Ever</a>. </P><P> </P><P>Gaga has been the most followed person on Twitter since August 2010, when she blasted past <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> for the title when she reached 5.6 million followers. </P><P> </P><P>Spears now enjoys 13.6 million followers, making her the seventh most-followed person on the network. Currently in third place is Katy Perry with 15.7 million followers. Shakira (14.5 million) and Rihanna (14.5 million) are not far behind. </P><P> </P><P>The only person within spitting distance of Gaga on Twitter is <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>. The recent <a href="/news/articles/1680248/justin-bieber-birthday-gifts.jhtml">birthday boy</a> has just over 18 million followers. He is, however, a far more prolific tweeter than Gaga; the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-lady-gaga-20-million-followers-twitter-20120305,0,4076491.story" target="_blank"><i>Los Angeles Times</i></a> notes that he has sent out 10 times as many tweets as the "Born This Way" diva. </P><P> </P><P>Gaga also enjoys a massive following on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ladygaga" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, where she's been "liked" by nearly 49 million people. But Mother Monster cannot claim being the boss on Facebook. That title belongs to <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a>, who has been liked by nearly 53 million individuals.</p>

Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' Single Is 'Definitely Edgier'

Producer/songwriter tells MTV News the 'sexier' track, which drops Monday, will 'definitely surprise people.'
By Jocelyn Vena

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> is days away from dropping his lead <a href="/news/articles/1680373/justin-bieber-believe-album.jhtml"><i>Believe</i></a> single, <a href="/news/articles/1680882/justin-bieber-boyfriend-single-buzz.jhtml">"Boyfriend,"</a> and its early buzz grew even louder on Wednesday when <a href="/news/articles/1681514/justin-bieber-boyfriend-lyrics.jhtml">Bieber released the lyrics</a> for the track. While fans will have to wait until Monday to hear the song, MTV News got a little bit of a tease from one of the guys who worked with the teen sensation on the track. </P><P> </P><P> "This record is different in a very good way," "BF" co-producer and co-writer Mason Levy told MTV News. "Definitely edgier, it's more grown-up, it's more developed and it's sexier. It's just like really dope. It's gonna definitely surprise people. People aren't really expecting that they're going to like it." </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:744691/cp~id%3D1680192%26vid%3D744691%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A744691" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>Levy thinks pretty much everyone is destined to like it, thanks to a sound that reaches far beyond that of Bieber's tweeny pop days. "It's more of something that everyone can drive around and listen to it, whether they're guys or girls or older," he said. </P><P> </P><P>Bieber has said he wanted to grow up with this album and the Mike Posner-produced song. His model was the post-'NSYNC Justin Timberlake. From the sound of it, he might have hit that nail on the head. </P><P> </P><P>"It's more just the verses [that he raps on] and the rest he's singing," he said. "It's dope. It's hip-hop, but with great acoustic R&B, pop guitar with very hip-hop, clubby drums and really dope Justin Timberlake-y melodies." </P><P> </P><P>The creation of the song was pretty organic, Levy said. "We got together and started messing around. It was one of those things where you didn't have to struggle too much. It just kind of happened," he said. "He always goes in and does melodies and he's involved in lyrics and everything." </P><P> </P><P>"Boyfriend" will set the tone for the album, set for release later this year. "There's definitely lots of diversity on the album. There's really ballad-y stuff and there's more stuff like this. I would say ['Boyfriend'] is harder," Levy added. "He's very open to everything." </P><P> </P><P><i>Are you excited to hear a "grown-up" Bieber on "Boyfriend"? Leave your comment below!</i> </P><P></p>

Adele Notches Best Sales Year Since Usher's Confessions

In 2011, 21 moved more than 5.6 million copies in the U.S.

Lena Dunham Plugs ?Not That Kind of Girl? at London?s Shoreditch House

Showing some love for her English fans, Lena Dunham showed up at the Secret Garden at Shoreditch House in London on Wednesday evening (October 29).

The green-haired ?Girls? star donned a white floral slip dress as she promoted her new book ?Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She?s Learned,? signing autographs and posing for photos.

In the book, Lena details her unhealthy relationship with food, especially as she began trying to get acting gigs. ?When I got out of college I thought, ?What am I gonna do? No one's gonna hire me, I'm a fat girl.??

?My food intake was a hard thing to share publicly. A lot of my life and work is sort of about not succumbing to [those pressures], so it's a little painful to go, ?Oh but look, there was a time where this dominated every moment of every day.??

She adds, ?I really feel good with my size now. I know when I say that people are like, ?Mm hmm,? but I just do! It used to be when I went into a room with all thin women I felt like, what's wrong with me? Now I just feel special.?

'Serena' Is What A Failed Oscar Contender Looks Like

"Serena" has faced an arduous journey to the big screen, but the movie's first trailer does a good job hiding that fact. It feels like a surefire Oscar contender, even though the Depression-era drama has been delayed since 2012 and is now slated for an awards-averse release in March 2015.

What it does have going for it is Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in their third movie together (after "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle"). Set in the 1930s, Cooper plays the owner of a struggling North Carolina timber empire. Lawrence stars as his wife, who learns she's unable to bear children. Early reviews haven't been kind.

Based on a 2008 novel by Ron Rash and directed by Susanne Bier, whose "In a Better World" won the 2011 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, "Serena" is scheduled to hit on-demand services Feb. 26. Magnolia Pictures will release the movie theatrically on March 27.

Alessandra Ambrosio & Jared Leto Join Forces For Rimowa NYC Grand Opening

Stepping out for a fun-filled evening, Alessandra Ambrosio showed up at the grand opening of the Rimowa NYC store last night (October 28).

The Brazilian knockout smiled from ear-to-ear as she posed for pictures with 30 Seconds to Mars rocker Jared Leto in the arrivals area.

And Alessandra was all about flaunting her gorgeous body in a slim-fitting black and tan dress with a labyrinth maze border along the shoulder and hem.

Known for high-end luggage and travel accessories, Rimowa is further expanding into the Big Apple from an already-solid foundation of stores in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas and San Francisco.

Beyonce's First Post-Baby Appearance Was Picture-'Perfect'

'It's perfect for this private couple,' one celebrity expert tells MTV News of B's low-key NYC outing.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>It was only a month ago that fans were wondering when the first images of new mom <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> might hit the Net. On Monday night, those questions were answered. Just four weeks after giving birth to daughter <a href="/news/articles/1677033/blue-ivy-beyonce-jay-z-leaves-hospital.jhtml">Blue Ivy</a>, B was back on the scene to celebrate hubby <a href="/news/articles/1678669/jay-z-carnegie-hall.jhtml">Jay-Z's first show at Carnegie Hall</a>. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Jay-Z Brings The House Down At Carnegie Hall" id="vid:731725" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Wearing a form-fitting red dress, she hit up a post-show party held at Jay's 40/40 Club in New York City. And while <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/07/beyonce-carnegie-hall-jay-z-show">Beyonc&#233; could have premiered</a> her <a href="/news/articles/1678670/beyonce-post-baby-appearance-jay-z.jhtml">post-baby body</a> on a splashy red carpet, celebrity experts note that the more understated move is very B. </P><P> </P><P>"It's perfect for this private couple. She didn't make a big deal walking a red carpet at an award show or posing on the cover of a magazine," Huffington Post celebrity columnist Rob Shuter told MTV News on Tuesday (February 7). "Beyonc&#233; made it as low-key an event as possible and at the same time plugged her husband's club." </P><P> </P><P><b><a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/08/beyonce-photos-carnegie-hall-night-two/">Check out more photos from B's night out!</a></b> </P><P> </P><P>For the appearance, Beyonc&#233; was decked out in a fiery-red Temperley London dress, Christian Louboutin heels and an Alexander McQueen clutch. While that may sound very glam, another expert was surprised by just how modest the look actually was. </P><P> </P><P>"Beyonc&#233; looks amazing in her first post-baby appearance. Even thought it made sense for her to make her debut last night to show her support for her husband and the charity his concert benefited, her outfit was fairly simple," celebrity editor <a href="http://gossipdavid.com" target="_blank">David Caplan</a> said. </P><P> </P><P>"I expected her to make her post-baby debut at a really glitzy event or awards show, like maybe the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys">Grammys</a>, in a gorgeous gown and really steal the show. But clearly she wanted to be seen, since she even posted photos of herself right away on her website, which stars don't typically do &#8212; they'll just let the media pick up and run the photos." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Celebrity Expert Believes Beyonce And Jay-Z Will Reveal Baby Photos Of Blue Ivy" id="vid:724228.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>So, will B and Jay play it just as cool when it comes to releasing the first shot of their newborn? "It will be a [paparazzi] shot taken on the beach or when the couple is on vacation," Shuter predicted. "They won't reveal the baby to get a [magazine] cover like Bethenny [Frankel] or those other reality stars." </P><P> </P><P>Caplan also proposed that a baby photo will probably leak. "As for when will we see baby Blue, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of grainy-looking paparazzi photo emerges," he said. "Those photographers are very crafty, even if Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z think they're doing all they can to keep Blue away from photographers. But ultimately, I think you can expect to see her baby photos in a magazine pictorial, and that will be Blue's introduction to the world. That's the real reveal people want to see." </P><P> </P><P><i>Are you looking forward to the first photos of Blue Ivy? Tell us on our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/mtvnews" target="_blank">Facebook</a> page!</i></p>

Beyonce And Jay-Z's Blue Ivy Trademark: An Expert Explains

Couple likely 'trying to protect what they rightfully own or created,' family law expert tells MTV News.
By John Mitchell

<P><a href="/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> and <a href="/music/artist/jay_z/artist.jhtml">Jay-Z</a> have filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect their month-old baby's name and reserve it for future use, MTV News has confirmed. The superstar couple reportedly sought the trademark to stop the use of Blue Ivy's name by others. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="A Gift Buying Guide For Blue Ivy Carter" id="vid:725377.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>It's a smart move, according to family law attorney and author <a href="http://www.vikkiziegler.com/" target="_blank">Vikki Ziegler</a>. "[Seeking the trademark] forestalls competitors from using the child's name and or third parties from attempting to sell the baby's name back to the couple," Ziegler told MTV News. "They are likely trying to protect what they rightfully own or created, shall we say, by trademarking Blue Ivy's name." </P><P> </P><P>The application to trademark Blue Ivy Carter's name, filed by BGK Trademark Holdings (Beyonc&#233;'s company) is currently pending but will likely be approved because, as the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/reliable-source/post/blue-ivy-the-trademark-feds-move-fast-on-rights-to-beyonce-and-jay-zs-babys-name/2012/02/03/gIQAOTDGnQ_blog.html" target="_blank"><i>Washington Post</i></a> reports, parents are legally authorized to trademark the names of their minor children. </P><P> </P><P>"In essence, it's a trademark for a brand, and this brand is expected to be one hot commodity &#8212; just look at Blue Ivy's parents," Ziegler said. "Anyone else that tried to use the name after the trademark was approved could be sued and held liable for damages." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Beyonce Will Emerge As A Hollywood Celebrity Mother Brand" id="vid:724613.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>While the Patent Office looks fondly on attempts to trademark the name of one's own child, attempts to do the same with the names of other people's kids are another story, as two designers learned when they sought &#8212; just days after Blue Ivy's birth &#8212; to trademark the baby's name for their own use. </P><P> </P><P>Applications from fashion designer Joseph Mbeh to patent "Blue Ivy Carter NYC" and by an unnamed designer to trademark "Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV" for a fragrance line were denied by the Patent Office, which noted in its decision that the name belonged to a "very famous infant" and consumers would wrongly assume that any products bearing the name had been approved by Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z. </P><P> </P><P>Ziegler noted that the trademark would "protect against others using the child's name as a brand of merchandise in the same marketplace," so it will not impact the "Blue Ivy" trademark held by a clothing boutique in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The store filed to trademark <i>its</i> name on January 19, 2011, a year before Queen B and Jay made the name famous. They received approval on August 23 &#8212; five days before <a href="/news/articles/1669849/beyonce-pregnant-vmas.jhtml">Beyonc&#233; announced her pregnancy</a> at the MTV Video Music Awards. </P><P> </P><P><i>What do you think about Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z trademarking Blue Ivy's name? Let us know in the comments!</i></p>

Britney Spears' Engagement Begins 'A New Chapter'

It's a 'good step' toward happiness in her life, Jordan Miller of Britney fan site Breatheheavy.com says.
By Christina Garibaldi

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> is <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/britneyspears" target="_blank">"still glowing"</a> after longtime boyfriend <a href="/news/articles/1676120/britney-spears-is-engaged.jhtml">Jason Trawick popped the question</a> to the pop star on Friday. The two spent the weekend in Las Vegas, where Spears flashed her Neil Lane engagement ring as they celebrated their upcoming nuptials and Trawick's 40th birthday. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Expert 'Not Surprised' By Engagement" id="vid:720837" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Friends and family have been showing their support and <a href="/news/articles/1676171/britney-spears-engagement-fan-reaction.jhtml">well-wishes</a> for the couple's upcoming wedding, including Spears' <a href="/news/articles/1676192/britney-spears-engaged-k-fed-comments.jhtml">ex-husband Kevin Federline</a>, who told <a href="http://tvweek.ninemsn.com.au/blog.aspx?blogentryid=963715&showcomments=true" target="_blank"><i>TV Week</i></a> magazine that he was "really happy for her." Yet it seems that no one is as happy for Spears than her die-hard fans. </P><P> </P><P>MTV News spoke with Las Vegas-based webmaster Jordan Miller, who runs Spears' biggest fan site, <a href="http://www.breatheheavy.com/" target="_blank">BreatheHeavy.com</a>, and he told us just how thrilled he is about the news. </P><P> </P><P>"I was pretty excited for Britney when I found out she was engaged," Miller said. "I think it's a good step for her to have some sort of relationship where she can share her feelings and thoughts about her life, so I'm happy for her." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Engaged To Jason Trawick" id="vid:720382" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>And it seems all of his followers agree. "The overwhelming reaction from fans about the news of Britney's engagement is that they're really happy for her," Miller said. "They think it's such good timing for her, to finish the tour and kind of have a break and be able to start a new chapter in her life. So I think the majority of fans are really happy for Britney and that it's definitely a good step for her." </P><P> </P><P>The news doesn't come as a big shock to Miller, since rumors of Britney's engagement have been swirling for months. </P><P> </P><P>"There were rumors for the last six months pretty much saying he was going to do it in December," Miller said of the couple, who have been <a href="/news/articles/1676167/britney-spears-jason-trawick-engaged-timeline.jhtml">dating since 2009</a>. "So it's cool to see that it actually happened and she's going to get married." </P><P> </P><P>Details have not been released as to when Britney will tie the knot, but it seems Miller already has the perfect wedding gift in mind from all of her fans. </P><P> </P><P>"If fans could get Britney a cool present, it would be a vacation to a tropical island where she didn't have to be around anyone but Jason," Miller said. </P><P> </P><P><i>What do you think of Britney's engagement? Lady Gaga Responds To Born This Way Topping 'Pretentious Albums' List

'Eye roll,' Gaga tweets after music mag NME blasts her latest LP.
By James Montgomery

<P>Earlier this week, British music mag <a href="http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=1&title=the_most_pretentious </P><P>_albums_ever&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1" target="_blank"><i>NME</i></a> set out to determine the "10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever." The list includes (genuinely pretty terrible) conceptual fare like Kiss' <i>Music From "The Elder,"</i> Lou Reed's <i>Metal Machine Music</i> and, uh, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a>'s <i>Born This Way,</i> which somehow bested all competitors to nab the #1 spot. </P><P> </P><P>How? Well, as <i>NME</i> writer Priya Elan wrote, "On <i>Born This Way,</i> [Gaga] seemed to believe in her own hype, convinced she had a message to share. Cue an album of unwieldy 'anthems' that couldn't mask the fact that the fun had left the building." Elan singled out the thumping "Schei&#223;e" as <I>BTW</i>'s most pretentious moment, adding, "Did electroclash die for this?" </P><P> </P><P>Snap. As you'd probably expect, those jabs had Gaga's Little Monsters on the offensive, and they launched an all-out attack on Elan in the comments section of <i>NME</i>'s website. But Gaga herself remained above the fray &#8212; for a while, anyway. </P><P> </P><P>On Thursday night, she took to her <a </P><P>href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/172828595134267392" target="_blank">Twitter account</a> to hit back at <i>NME,</i> a publication that's certainly been <a href="http://i28.tinypic.com/2vwzpfp.jpg" target="_blank">no stranger to charges of pretentiousness</a> over the years. </P><P> </P><P>"Oh the irony of winning 'Most Pretentious Album Ever' from none other than NME. *Eye roll,*" Gaga wrote. "I might laugh forever [and] then return to narcissism." </P><P> </P><P>Double snap. Having sufficiently eye-rolled her way through the situation, there's been no further comment from Gaga about the list. </P><P> </P><P><I>NME,</i> of course, has since turned the exchange into <a href="http://www.nme.com/news/lady-gaga/62233" target="_blank">a separate story,</a> one which, for whatever reason (word count?), includes recent comments Gaga made about bulimia ... and spaghetti. *Eye roll.*</p>
