He was one of the most prolific songwriters of his day and sadly Gerry Goffin passed away on Wednesday, June 18th.
Goffin was probably best known for penning hits like ?Pleasant Valley Sunday,? ?Crying in the Rain,? ?Take Good Care of My Baby,? and the late Whitney Houston?s ?Saving All My Love For You.?
In 1959, Gerry married the legendary Carole King, though they ended up getting divorced in 1968. Later he remarried Michele Goffin.
King told press, "Gerry was a good man with a dynamic force, whose words and creative influence will resonate for generations to come. His legacy to me is our two daughters, four grandchildren, and our songs that have touched millions and millions of people, as well as a lifelong friendship."
