Adele Opens Up About Surgery with "60 Minutes"

She's the talk of the town ahead of her stage return this weekend at the GRAMMY Awards, and Adele sat down for a conversation with Anderson Cooper as part of CBS' "60 Minutes".

The English singer-songwriter discussed her vocal cord surgery, after which she had to write out her words and use a phone app to communicate.

Of using the electronic devices to converse with others, Adele told, ?The great thing is I love to swear. Most of [the apps] you can?t swear on. But I found this one app where you can swear, so I?m still really getting my point across.?

As for the moment in which she knew she needed medical treatment, the Grammy nominee said, ?[It was} like someone put a curtain over my throat?and I could feel it. It felt like something popped in my throat.?

Then describing her operation, the 23-year-old explained, ?I had laser surgery. [They] put lasers down your throat, cut off the polyp and kind of laser your hemorrhage back together and fix it."

Check out the preview clip below before the entire interview and an accompanying performance airs on "60 Minutes" on Sunday (February 12) at 7PM ET.
