She?s much more than just a pretty face and Emma Stone sat down with Diane Keaton for a fascinating chat in the May 2015 issue of Interview magazine.
And given that the interview took place prior to the ?Easy A? actress? split with Andrew Garfield, he was fair game for subject matter. Diane began, "Andrew Garfield said, 'Working with Emma was like diving into a thrilling, twisting river [Stone laughs] and never holding on to the sides. From the start. To the end. Spontaneous. In the moment. Present. Terrifying. Vital. The only way acting with someone should be.' My God. I mean, what did you feel when you heard such a dream-come-true observation?? Emma replied, "He is such a poet. [laughs] But that's the way he writes in general. So I hear it and of course my heart swells up. And I also know that he writes things like that on a daily basis.?
Keaton also asked, "So, Emma, look. The way I see it is, you're unconventionally beautiful. And I consider things like complexity and a certain kind of off-kilter aspect to a person as important components of beauty. But when you think of beauty, how do you define it?" Stone fired back, "Our tastes are pretty similar. Based on your book and what I've seen on your Pinterest board. The more unique the better. When you feel that a person is being true to how they want to look or what their face is, I think there's something about the acceptance of oneself that I can feel from people. That tends to be what I'm attracted to."
