Shailene Woodley on ?Divergent,? Turning down ?Fifty Shades of Grey,? Coping with Fame

Shailene Woodley spoke on a range of topics including ‘Divergent’ which sees her in the starring role, as well as her reasons for turning down the role of Anastasia Steele in ‘Fifty Shades of Gray,’ in a new interview. The rising star had much to say! The 22-year-old actress is all but guaranteed to become a huge star and to take her place on the Hollywood A list, much in the same way as other actresses in such franchises based on young adult novels, notably Kristen Stewart of ‘The Twilight Saga’ and, an even more close comparison, Jennifer Lawrence of ‘The Hunger Games’ trilogy. The parallels are striking as both novels are set in a near-future dystopia and find their protagonists at odds with a society that has little regard for them. ‘Divergent’ the movie is based on the Veronica Roth novel of the same title set in a Chicago we would not want to live in.
