Pharrell Williams has debuted a music video for ‘Happy’ from the ‘Despicable Me 2′ soundtrack. It’s the first of its kind, an interactive 24-hour long video with celebrity cameos from the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Carrell, Miranda Cosgrove, and many others. The 40-year-old multi-Grammy winning producer and performing artist Pharrell Williams was both producer and featured artist on two summer smash hits that dominated charts around the world; Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky.’ He is now blazing a trail in music video innovation with ‘Happy’ which is as cheerful as its title. The Oscar-buzzed song — which he wrote, produced and performs — is featured on the soundtrack of the animated movie ‘Despicable Me 2′ which was a blockbuster hit over the summer. And now it has a video that is 24 hours long, time-coded from midnight to midnight. It was directed by We Are From L.A. According to Deadline.com, it was shot by a film crew using Stedicam over the course of 11 days on location in Los Angeles using 400 extras.
