Justin Bieber Goes 'More Mature' With 'Boyfriend' Video

Pop star brings new clip to MTV News and answers all his fans' questions during Thursday's 'MTV First: Justin Bieber.'
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway

<P>From the back of a Shelby Mustang right to a showroom filled with classic cars, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> premiered his highly anticipated <a href="/news/articles/1684446/justin-bieber-boyfriend-video.jhtml">"Boyfriend" video</a> on Thursday (May 3) during "MTV First: Justin Bieber." The sexy, sunny, <a href="/news/articles/1684418/justin-bieber-boyfriend-video-cars-girls.jhtml">Director X-directed</a> clip certainly had fans in the room cheering.</P><P>The video comes to life with shots of Bieber driving a muscle car, snuggling with his beautiful co-star and getting his dance on alongside his pals, all while they chill out at a rooftop party somewhere in Los Angeles. It's a more mature look at the growing pop star, who in only a few short years has gone from strumming his guitar on the streets of his Canadian hometown to full-fledged international pop-star status, where he fills arenas all over the world.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Wanted 'Boyfriend' Video To Be 'Mature'" id="vid:765691.id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"I kind of switched it up from all the teasers," Bieber told MTV News' Sway Calloway about what fans saw of the video before its premiere. "I switched up the whole video on them, and really, I think it's super cool. I wanted to do something a little bit more mature."</P><P>The video is full of swaggy images, ranging from his varsity jacket to his cool car, but what left one fan in the "MTV First" audience most intrigued were the gold sneakers he sports in the video. "I did pick out those swaggy gold shoes," he laughed. "They spray-painted them gold. That's what I'm going to do: I'm gonna start wearing gold shoes all the time."</P><P>With the video's focus on cars and friends, the 18-year-old chatted about his own personal car collection. "I have a Range Rover and a Fisker. And I have a Smart Car. It just helps me get from point A to point B. I call it my little 'swag car,' " he said.</P><P>While Bieber made it clear that his off-time doesn't look a lot like the party in the video, he did share what he does on the weekends: "I work. ... If I'm with my friends, we like to do regular stuff," he said, before opening up about what he does to unsuspecting pals in an elevator. "We have this game where basically we hit each other in the balls."</P><P>In addition to opening up about the video and his unusual take on riding in an elevator, he also talked about working with pals Drake, Kanye West, Usher and Taylor Swift for his brand-new album, <a href="/news/articles/1684292/justin-bieber-boyfriend-mike-posner-sessions.jhtml"><I>Believe,</I></a> out June 19. "Boyfriend" is the lead single from the highly anticipated release.</P><P>But with the music world conquered, he also teased his forthcoming work in Hollywood. He gave an update on his in-the-works <a href="/news/articles/1676492/mark-wahlberg-justin-bieber-basketball-movie.jhtml">basketball movie with Mark Wahlberg</a>, as well as his blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in "Men In Black 3." He noted, however, "Right now I'm focused on my album and <I>Believe.</I>"</P><P><i>What did you think of the "Boyfriend" video? Meek Mill Keeps Chasing The Dream On New Mixtape

'I'm just giving everybody my view of how I'm living,' Milly tells Mixtape Daily of just-released Dream Chasers 2.

Mixtape: Dream Chasers 2

Real Spit: Hard to imagine that anyone is still sleeping on Meek Mill these days, but don't think for a second that all his rap popularity came overnight. Meek made his name battling on the streets of his native Philadelphia, proved his in-studio worth with an impressive string of mixtapes, then Rick Ross came knocking in 2011, Maybach Music deal in hand. Some would say Meek Mill is living his dream, but if you let the Philly flame-spitter tell it, he's still chasing it.

On Monday (May 7), Meek dropped Dream Chasers 2, the follow-up to last year's critically acclaimed mixtape. "My city lacks dream chasers," Meek Milly told Mixtape Daily. "It's motivational, inspiring, my story, but this time, I'm just more loose with it. I've been seeing more things, been around the world a little bit more."

Though the MMG young gun has grown as an MC, the music on DC2 is just as edgy as its predecessor. On the tape's intro, Meek sets an aggressive tone, spitting, "I got 30 racks in my pocket, I keep 30 shots in my clip/ I get 30 racks for my verses, y'all ain't gettin' paper like this."

On the aggressively paced "Flexing," Meek once again links with "I'ma Boss" producer Jahlil Beats, and on "Everyday," he rides with his MMG boss Rick Ross over a menacing sound bed. While hard-granite rap is his strong point, Milly is no one-trick pony; he does venture out of the streets from time to time. For "Ready or Not," producer All Star conjures a beat based off the popular 1996 Fugees song of the same name. The subdued instrumental allows the young MC the space to get introspective. "It's a dark cloud over me, money took control of me/ I'm barely getting time to see my son and that sh-- hurtin' me/ Baby mama trippin', I tell her to work with me/ I'm on probation, still strapped, 'cause n---as wanna murder me."

"Use to Be" shows even more vulnerability. Over what sounds like a muted heartbeat with soft piano keys laid atop, the promising rap product opens up even more about his demons. "When I was young, I started plannin' it out/ My daddy got killed, I was the man of the house/ By the age of 16, man them hammers was out/ So when n---as tried to hit me, I'm just handin' 'em out."

"I'm just giving everybody my view of how I'm living and relating to other people's stories and bringing the part of the game that I need to bring to the game," Meek said of his intentions when recording the tape.

On Dream Chasers 2, Meek Mill surely serves his underground base but proves that he has a knack for making big records as well. It's a safe bet that "Amen" featuring Drake and Jeremih will become a radio mainstay at least until August 28, when he drops his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares. Still, there is no one record that can define Meek's latest work, and even if he's accomplished some of his goals, we're quite confident he'd just dream up a few more.

Joints to Check For
» "Intro." "I put the little [Mike] Tyson talking in front of it just to build up the energy, letting you know I'm gonna come strong."

» "Racked Up Shawty" (featuring Fabolous). "Me and Fab was just in the studio, buildin'. We was just chillin', he was out in L.A., I was out in L.A., we chillin' and I started vibin', came up with a hook, Fab came in, he put his verse together and that was that."

Beyonce Calls Faked Pregnancy Rumors 'So Stupid'

'It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy,' she tells People in the magazine's Most Beautiful issue.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>Back in October, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/news.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> shot down a rumor that she was wearing a fake baby bump after an appearance on an <a href="/news/articles/1672384/beyonce-baby-bump.jhtml">Australian talk show</a>. When Beyonc&#233; sat down for the interview, it appeared that the bump deflated, prompting many to wonder if the pop singer was really pregnant or faking it.</P><P>Now, months after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy, Beyonc&#233; is talking to <i>People</i> magazine, about the gossip. "That was crazy. It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy," she says in the Most Beautiful issue, in which she was named the world's <a href="/news/articles/1683832/beyonce-people-most-beautiful-woman.jhtml">Most Beautiful Woman</a>, <a href="http://www.tvguide.com/News/Beyonce-Calls-Fake-1046635.aspx" target="_blank">TVGuide.com reports</a>. "[I thought] 'Where did they come up with this?' It was a fabric that folded &#8212; does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid."</P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:686198/cp~vid%3D686198%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A686198" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></P><P>The chitchat didn't just bother Beyonc&#233;. Her mother also opened up about the allegations in the interview, adding, "I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother, it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous."</P><P>In the magazine, out now, Queen B addressed not only the baby bump controversy, but also her commitment to <a href="/news/articles/1683910/beyonce-heels-pre-baby-people-magazine.jhtml">being sexy</a>, even at nine months. "I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels. It makes me laugh thinking about it," she said. "But after many hours of labor, I didn't care how I looked. It was all about the miracle that God gave me &#8212; the opportunity to deliver a human being."</P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a></p>
